two boy dolls for sick kids

2 Attachment(s)
The 'green eyed boy doll' will be delivered tomorrow to a local 6 year old (from Crescent City, CA), who is waiting for a kidney transplant. They are trying to raise money locally to help the family with involved expenses, for doctors, testing etc etc. I have been told I may take a picture of him and post it on line. His name is Trent. I think he is the boy doll with the overalls.

The blue eyed boy(Wearing a hoodie) (Jaeson) will be going to an 8 year old (from Merlin, OR) who was born with his heart upside down and backwards. He does well lots of the time, but has llimitations, as to be expected in such a case as his, thus some 'sick days'. Specialists are hoping he will 'hang on' until he is at least 20 as they feel that is a better time for a heart transplant, which is his only 'pretty much for sure hope'.

I will be mailing the doll to Oregon for the 8 year old tomorrow. Two of your quilters from the quilting forum are making a quilt so each of these boys will have one in 2 or 3 weeks from now.

I hope you all enjoy seeing the dolls. If I get a picture tomorrow of Trent I will post it. The top picture reflects the back side (or sleepy eyed side) of the boys.

They are very cute and I'm sure the boys will love them. So good of you to think of them and make these dolls for sick kids.

I hear about them locally from people who know I make the dolls, or from forums on the internet and people who see the postings and know about sick kids.

Most of the dolls go to kids with cancer. I know the lady who works for my county and the adjoining one ( She is the representative for the American cancer Society) That lady also shares some dolls with the Ronald McDonald house in Portland, OR. Some dolls went to the Seattle Childrens Hospital. After tomorrow there will be 117 dolls that have gone out to a child in need.

I am glad you enjoyed seeing the boy dolls today.

Very nice job Vicky.. How wonderful of you to think of others in need.. You are truly a sewing angel in disguise!

What a wonderful (and cute) thing to do for these boys. Often we don't think of giving a doll to a boy but these are so "boyish", they cannot help but love them. I hope that when the boys hug these dolls (especially on their "bad days"), they will feel the love you have put into each doll.

Thanks to you both. I hope by now, even the child one state up from me will have received his doll.

I hope both will know someone that didn't know them cared about them, and hope the doll will bring comfort to them both.
