Did anyone ever do this? We are planting a tree & want to tie memorial messages on the tree. I am wondering what is the best way to do it... maybe you know!!

Do you want the messages to remain there? Most materials will disintegrate, How about some small glass or plastic bottles tied to the branches with messages in them tied on with a weatherproof twine? Years ago I was looking for a way to lift a branch up to the rest of a small tree and used a dog collar, it is still there!

I think these will be paper scrolls, tied w ribbon.

I am attending a memorial tree planting this evening. I will report back how it was done. I am curious to see if the messages are meant to be private or public for all to read and share.

could always get those xmas ornaments that come apart and insert your scroll and return at a designated time(ex,5 years) read them and remember.

That's a great idea. Parents will want to read the messages.

Just returned from tree planting and they used paper, stickers, markers etc to write messages and then lamenated them and hung with raffia, twine and string. Very informal but so beautiful to see young and old together with such happy memories. A friend gone too soon and missed so much!
