UFO Dress
2 Attachment(s)
My sisters and I found this fabric and pattern tied up together while going through some more of my late mom's things. I brought it home just out of curiosity and because the pattern is cute. This afternoon I decided I'd either do something with it or toss it. Turns out part of the pattern had been cut out but there wasn't enough fabric for the front of the dress. I took the challenge and this is what came of it. Now to determine which of the tykes will get it. We have three granddaughters under the age of two, surely it will fit one of them. What do you think? Did I manage a decent finish for one of mom's UFO's?

Very cute! Probably just how she was going to finish it!
That is sooooo groovy. All three will want it.
That is extra, extra cute. Nice job finishing it.
Darling! now may suggest you go to Joann's and get maybe 3 whimsical buttons to down the yoke or sew a pretty red bow at the neck. And you know you'll have to make more with 2 gds.
So cute! |
Oh, I wish I were tiny - it's adorable and I want one too!
Really pretty and fresh looking.
You did great. Is there enough fabric left to put pockets or an applique on? Checks on the white and white on the checks.

Very cute and a great job, mom would like it I am sure
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
If you decide to go to Joann's and get buttons you may want to pick up some more fabric for the other two gds! I am sure they will be begging for the cute little dress!
That is just too cute, they will love it. You will probably have to make two more.
Absolutely perfect, just the way it is!
That is a good save. Reminds me of an outfit I made for 4-H. I used black and white and made the top for a white pair of shorts. Think I placed on it and went to the state contest. Back in the early 60's. Fashion does have it's cycles.
Certainly did. Great finish.
I think you did a wonderful job of finishing it. Great idea.
I love colorblocked garments. Great job on the finished dress!

That is so cute!!! I made those for my girls many moons ago. Need to find it for my GGD and make her one.

So cute! |
Great job !! very cute and I am sure your mom is smiling down on you and saying that is my girl !!
I found packages like that at Goodwill. Bought 5 for the fabric. When I got it home .. everything was there. Pattern cut out, buttons, thread. All I had to do is sew them together. Ended up with four cute outfits, used the 'pink' in a baby quilt I was making. Now to find someone that is a size 14 to give the outfits to. LOL Know anybody?
Lovely! Any of the girls will love it, and you will have to make 2 more!
Bet she's smilin' as you finish her ufo.

I would say you did your Mother proud - that's a wonderful dress, and you can call it an original design.

That is very cute. Three cute little buttons of something that one of the girls like they have cute little red ladybugs, etc. good job. Don't you love finding something you can finish like that. Sue

Great save!! Color blocking is cool. You did a GREAT job. Why not make 2 more in the same style and then all the girls will have one.
