Okay, quite by accident, I have learned that you can click on "section" and it sorts topics ....main, pictures, gcc, etc.....into groups!!!! Did you know this?

needles3thread 09-14-2011 10:35 AM

No, I didn't. don't see 'section' to click on.

Click on Home at top and it will bring up the sections.

When you are in unread topics, it reads "section", "topic", "1stpost" "last post"

QuiltnNan 09-14-2011 10:38 AM

wow, i didn't know that. and i often read by type/section, so this is a great help. thanks

In home, you get all the topics. In unread topics, if you sort by section, you only get the "unread topics" sorted!!!!

Glassquilt 09-14-2011 11:20 AM

Top of page > Home > All Sections (on left side lower down)

grayma 09-14-2011 11:27 AM

I didn't know that either, and just tried it. It works! Thank you.

VaNella 09-14-2011 11:28 AM

i use it all the time. I know there are other things here I have no inkling about tho!

amazon 09-14-2011 11:35 AM

Sorry, i'm not sure how to be clearer....go to unread topics. across it gives "section", "topic", "first post", "last post". Click on "section", an it will sory topics by section, same as on home page.

I like to take a look in the Unread Topics because I know how it feels to post something and not to get any responses. This is a very large message board and sometimes our posts get lost in the shuffle.

quilt1950 09-14-2011 01:27 PM

When I click on "Unread Topics" I do not have any options. I must have something else not set up correctly. Any suggestions?

KarenK 09-14-2011 02:14 PM

I did not know that! Thanks!!! :-D

OK, I learned something new this morning! I haven't ever looked at most of the stuff at the top. I need to do a better job of exploring this wonderful site! Thanks for the info.

Scakes 09-15-2011 04:04 AM

I didn't know it until now. Thanks for the tip.

jitkaau 09-15-2011 05:11 AM

All of the sections are listed at the top of the page that I receive. Is that what you are talking about?
I have explored them regularly and find it interesting to catch up with the less frequently viewed topics.

Angellight 09-15-2011 05:28 AM

Actually yes I did know this.
I don't really have time to go through every thread. So I click on section and read the ones I really love (pictures, some chit chat, some of the general and some recipes and some sites to look at.
It is a great feature of this board.

Susan

I see unread topics but not "sections"
BUT I am reading the daily digest, maybe that is why???????????

katydidit 09-15-2011 08:01 AM

butterflies5518 09-15-2011 08:42 AM

diane9617 09-15-2011 03:58 PM

had no idea! thanks for this bit of information! love the QB more and more each day. :D

bloomin'Iris 09-15-2011 04:47 PM

I go through recent, unread and watched topics with my morning coffee. The quilted news letter doesn't get to me before I have to leave for work. :( That's okay though, I get to catch up on the latest when I get home. Don't get much quilting done until the weekends, days are just to long....

Oh, I thought that it just meant unread by me! Will have to go check.

bearisgray 09-15-2011 07:29 PM

NOW I finally got what you mean!

Had no idea that could be done.

RobertaMarie 09-15-2011 08:49 PM

Isn't this just the neatest site on the web? I love it because I learn something new almost every day, and it is much easier to navigate than some sites. Thank you to our people who monitor the topics, and keep us on track. This has to be a big job, and I for one really appreciate it. And thanks too to all the helpful hints by our board members. Some of us are not as computer-savvy as the rest, and you really do help out. Bless you all.

Olivia's Grammy 09-16-2011 01:04 PM

Yes, I discovered this by accident recently. It's great. I guess it would help all of us to read all the words at the top, huh?
