Thanks. Plus one can watch a lunar eclipse without worrying about getting blinded.

Thank you for the news IceBlossom. My niece is having a baby shower that weekend and the extended family is descending. My brother has a great telescope and I asked him to set it up for all of us, weather permitting. It should be fun!

Thanks for informing us of this happening. Will be sure to watch. I just told hubby he needs to get his binoculars out of his deer stand so we can see better.

Tonight's the night... for me it is right in the middle of my otherwise bad sleep cycle, about 2 hours before I get up naturally. So maybe I'm up/maybe I'm not, but I'm gonna try.

I've had the date marked for quite a while, but the weather is not cooperating. We need the rain though.

Thank you, Ice Blossom!

Got up three times last night and I could tell the moon was passing through the eclipse but my condo is on just a bit of an angle and I could not see the moon. Rats, but I did see the moon in all of its blue/white glory after its eclipse about 4:00am. Woke me up with the brilliant light. Ah, well. Thanks for keeping in the know, ICE.

We had good weather, not too cold -- all we needed was bathrobes, no rain, clear skies and a great view from our back deck. The back is a ravine with no lights.

Between the rain and light pollution we didn't get to often see solar events in Seattle.

We also had perfect weather - clear skies and mild temps. Took a deck chair out in the yard and watched the shadow move across the moon. Went in about 2:30 when the moon was a dark ruby color with a faint glow along one edge. I thought that was it. Didn't look like the pictures online, but I thought maybe they were enhanced by the telescope lens. Kinda disappointed though. About 3:00 went back out for one more look and there it was! A glowing scarlet jewel in the sky! Oh wow oh wow oh wow!
