1} I keep deleting the private messages and yet they are still there...any clue how to get rid of them?
2} Is there away to not get my own posts in my mailbox? I checked under profile but didn't see alot of options

For PMs you have an --In box and a Sent box are you deleting them in both spots ?

Under your profile you can check to Not get email notifications , BUT it is an all or nothing type deal ( I think) so you wouldn't get any notifications on other threads
