I want to use an External Hard Drive to store my quilting patterns and embroidery designs on. Now, I'm usually computer savvy but I'm hitting a blank wall on this one. Do I just hook up the EHD and then how do I tell it each time to save to the EHD? I also want to work off the EHD when I pull up patterns and designs and I also want to save EQ6 on the EHD. I'm using XP Pro and IE7. My laptop is getting slower and slower and I'm trying to eliminate so much artwork on the Hard Drive.

Any suggestions? I'm so like lost on this one!

Thanks!

Yes, it should have a different "letter", like your lap top is "c" and the external will be "f" or something like that. So you will say "save as" and then choose whatever letter it is to save it.

That is the way my external hard drive is too.

And I should have added that to pull something from the EHD, you will reverse the procedure. You will click "Open" and then look for "f" (or whatever letter you have assigned to it) and then choose what file you want to open.

Thanks for asking the question. I've been thinking of getting one because I've been taking lots of pictures and doing videos and I'd like to get them off my computer.

Now I know!

Yeah, I'm so excited to get started! Hopefully, my lil ole puter will speed up a bit! I like it when I seem to actually accomplish something I've had on my to do list!
