I use one of those 20 dollar stic vacs. It works great. I keep one in the sewing room and one in the kitchen to "spot" vac between cleaning with my Rainbow. That thing is more troubl than it is worth, for small jobs.

I personally like those very cheap shark vaccuums, not for carpets though, but they do floors great! My sewing room is simple laminant flooring so it works perfect on that, $99 and there you have it:) I usually buy mine when they go on sale for $49.

I love my little Bissell 3 in 1...they are under $20 usually and sometimes on Black Friday they are on super sale. Here is a link I just found. It is electric and maintains good power. There were long discussions on here in the past...try searching this board and see what you find. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bissell-3-...-38B1/16439796

Well, I love my Oreck, but I sew in a room with very old carpeting, so most days you will find me on the floor with my trusty lint roller! It picks up all the threads quickly and easily.

My Dirt Devil Vision was great in the sewing room it has a built in hose with all kinds of attachments.Back when I had carpets it would suck the dirt from under the padding. Now I have real wood floors so its become my electric dust pan. I sweep the whole house into a pile and suck it all up the hose.

I went to Lowe's and bought a small shop vac. Then I ordered the cleaning kit for sewing, machines. I can suction my sewing machine when thru with a project and all runs smooth. It is small enough to fit under my sewing table and has a long enough wand to take care of my need. No rollers or brissels to clean.

I use a toilet brush (bought new at the dollar store) to clean around my sewing area. It picks up threads and tiny scraps very well. (And it can be done sitting in my sewing chair!) lol
