Thanks for sharing your furbabies with us! How wonderful to be able to look out and see your other passion!
Buddy sure is a looker! What a heartbreaker with that snow beard!

foxxigrani 01-10-2011 06:50 AM

Oh boy, I would love to have a view like that. I would even settle for the snow too if I could have that view. Lucky you.

kriscraft99 01-10-2011 07:18 AM

we had Shetland ponies when I lived on a farm in WV - many many years ago, now I have a dog about the same size :)

gloria11 01-10-2011 08:47 AM

PERFECT!!! I'd never leave that room

nuttyhurricane 01-10-2011 01:26 PM

Major distraction from what you went into the room for. HOWEVER an excellent way to relax for a few. K

barnbum 01-10-2011 01:33 PM

Actually... they are much shorter than Shetlands... they are American Miniature Horses. :-D

We're not sure... he was a rescue from my sister's backyard.

I did once... but I don't like the fuss of the prep and the cost. I'd like to show in obstacle if I did. I'd rather do community service kinds of things with them. I take one for rides in the van when it's nice out. :-D

Ditter43 01-10-2011 01:39 PM

Nice view! You can keep an eye on your babies while you sew!! :-D

I ran into a person from a show last year that took minis to nursing homes to interact with the elderly and also to visit special needs kids. I thought that was pretty interesting. I love them, they are like big dogs and very gentle with people. one of ours is a driving horse.

Aunt Doggie 01-10-2011 03:00 PM

I just want to pick one up and squeeze them till they whinny!!!

I would take them all!!

What a view, you are sooooo lucky!!

Maybe1day 01-10-2011 03:55 PM

How gorgeous, makes me wish I had a view like this, of course I may not get too much done in the way of sewing though as I would likely be too busy watching the view change

Maybe1day

I took Mazie in an assisted living place a few years ago--it was awesome. It's tricky though... I can only fit one in the van--and it's hard on a horse to be away from the herd. I didn't want to take one wee horse in the trailer... So--it's easier to bring the residents out here. So, for four years now, the same assisted living place has brought a bus load of 16 out here in July for a horse show. There are lots of photos on my website..... :-D

Momsmurf 01-10-2011 05:38 PM

I can almost smell them! My folks raise a few .... wonderful animals. Beautiful animals.

mayday 01-11-2011 11:17 AM

lovely, thank goodness shetlands don't need high maintenance, my old girl of 25 refuses to go into her shelter and trashes hay but does so love her bran and apples in this weather.

butterflywing 01-11-2011 02:36 PM

i see everyone is together for a while. i guess that means the hooves are totally better. i can't wait to see the minis in their winter coats.

you must be delirious in your new sewing room.

OhSewJoyful 01-11-2011 05:59 PM

Jealous!! :)

Gramof6 01-11-2011 06:42 PM

Karla this view is just spectacular! You lucky gal! I would sit in that window all day long & watch those beauties. Thank You for sharing & making me drool all over everywhere!

Well--not 100% on Rosie just yet. It will take a year for her her laminitis to grow out. But, I've watched her carefully on winter grass. When it was half brown/half green she wore a muzzle. Then I watched... Then she went out for 30 min, then was muzzled...then I watched. Then 40 min...then I watched. So far, she hasn't been sore at all, but I'm still limiting her.

I wish I could get more time in my room! I'm home from school today--another doc's appt for my 7th week of congestion and a plugged ear. This was an ENT guy... he put me on a 3rd antibiotic!!!! plus a steroid and prescription nasal spray and that pill for another anticipated yeast infection. So far I only feel nauseous...

It's so hard to teach with muffled hearing. And between this and a challenging class this year, I only have energy to sew on weekends.

Barbm 01-12-2011 12:09 PM

I love when you post pics of the babies. I would have a hard time getting any sewing done if they were outside my window.

Dee 01-13-2011 09:28 PM

What a very beautiful view.

GloryBee 01-15-2011 02:37 PM

Well, I am sorry but quilting would have to take second place if I had those babies to play with. Just love them.

omak 01-24-2011 06:43 PM
