Vinyl Tilt-In Windows
 

My house had replacement vinyl tilt-in replacement windows in it when we bought it (I have no instructions/manual/information sheet on them). It is now difficult to open/raise the windows on nice days. I'm NOT talking about tilting them in to clean them, I'm just talking about raising the window to get some fresh air. I've kept them clean over the years, but is there something I can use to grease/lubricate them to make them easier to open and close? TIA!!

Have you googled tilt in window problems? Or instructions for (your brand)? If there is a label on the window, you can call the manufacture's customer service and maybe they can help you? Hope you can find the help you need.

I had trouble sliding the windows in my house. I was told to use a silicon spray (available at Walmart and other fine establishments) and that did help.

I used WD-40 for everything that sticks in my house. It works about 98% of the time.

Graphite powder is sold in small tubes. This works on our vinyl windows.

Good topic. We live in an old house so i blame this on the house settling. Might try these remedies.

WD-40. It works on everything.

I very seldom open my windows, as my cats would try to jump on the window sills.
