I know spring has come when the geese in the neighborhood are hatching their babies. This looks like two batches with one a little older than the others. They make a huge mess, but the babies are so cute!

I agree huge mess but still fun to see. Thanks for sharing.

How cool is that.
When I lived in Lexington, NC one fall I had a yard full of geese. It was exciting seeing them all there. |
Such a huge mess is right. You have to have rubber boots to mow the law with all their droppings  Enjoy the babies because they sure grow fast and then they make big messes to

Would you believe we have Canada geese in east Texas. There is a gaggle that lives in the big pond by the hospital in Athens, TX. My parents live about 15 miles away & some of them come to their lake. It is so cool to see them. I always thought they only lived up north. Guess they are winter Texans too. The ones at the hospital stay year round. We also have pelicans at Lake Palestine & we are at least 250 miles from the coast.

Guess they know where they can be safe! They sure can invade a place. I hear them fly over, and see them all around the pond in the Office Parks and on the Jr. College campus! :?

Awww, aren't they cute!! (I agree about the mess though!!)

LOL -- they look awesome. Everytime I see geese, I'm reminded of the time we were looking for a house. Went into an open house and the realtor was REALLY trying hard to sell the house. She pointed out the creek right off the deck (literally, 3 feet from the deck) and how neat it was that the geese and ducks would wander around the yard (all 5 feet of that). Just then a duck walked up on the deck and left a "charm"...actually, squirted it right onto the deck and it spattered onto the sliding glass door!!! Needless to say, we didn't buy that house.
