That is too funny! Hernias seem to run in my husband's family (his grandfather, father, my husband, and our son). I know they aren't funny to go through but it's funny to read how you lightened up your situation.
My husband is a very vain man. His first one they put a screen in just under the skin. They used a local to do it and he insisted on wearing his usual tight jeans home instead of lose ugly sweats. Then when he got home he was dancing around and saying that this was a piece of cake to go through. I warned him that when the local wore off he'd be hurting. He just laughed. Well, at about 3 a.m. I could hear him stirring in bed and very slowly get up and try to walk to the bathroom. I just lay there and had a smile on my face as he learned the hard way what I was talking about (I've had enough surgeries to know to behave!). He took a pain pill and was better but didn't do any dancing the next surgery! |

My friend was having some abdominal surgery and on her belly she wrote... "in case of rape, this side up" That was years ago and I still laugh about it.
