War & peace

Just watched part 4 last evening..from On Demand......I must confess I never read the book..it just looked so daunting! But, I enjoyed the series very much....I love period, historical dramas and I think this one was done very well. I think if I would have read the book, I might have gotten a bit confused with so many characters, places,...but now I might go to the library and take it out, just to see the difference and I can sort of put faces on names.....

Partially read book, got confused with characters. Not seen it on demand.

I read the book in college. Saw the movie years ago. Kept the book and thought I might read it again but never quite get around to it. Might try and watch it On Demand. Thanks for the heads up.

Also watched the series on TV but I think mine came on the PBS channel. Was surprised to to "Rose" from the Downton Abbey series on it. Can't place where I've seen the guy that seemed like a "dork" but a basically nice guy on the series. The ending was a nice change from all the bloodshed during the movie.

Yes, lots of bloodshed, but those were the times.......as today. I too must look up paul Dano..actor who played Pierre
