This sounds sooo familiar only they never honor the dry zone

Wish they had adult size of those, as it has been so hot here lately and summer
hasn't even started!! We have had tornadoes in the area the last few days;
lucky no one was hurt or killed, tree damage and some walls came down on a
carwash, old trailer houses torn up and only a back part of the local grocery
store where freezer and a/c units were damaged. We had heard the roof
was gone and that would have meant the people would have to go 23 miles
for a grocery store; it should be ready to open in less than a week.

Great pics. Love to see everyone outside, having fun and getting active. Too many kids don't know how to "play" anymore (big ones or little).

Awe, looks like they were having fun!

We had everyone's cell phones and wallets on the porch with us. That way we were guaranteed a dry zone. lol

They've all gone home now and the house seems so quiet. Our 13 yr. old is still here but even she's rather quiet. We've all done a lot of resting/sleeping since yesterday.

I know I would rather have the fun, the memories, and the joys of the day than the grass and manicured yard. It looks like everyone had fun cooling off ... including the dry zone watchers!

We used to love playing in the sprinklers on hot summer days as kids. Your set-up looks a might fancier. Thank goodness you are not under water restrictions.

My DH has a huge family and we all used to get together for July 4th. In 1982 his cousin hosted the party in his sloping back yard. One game for the kids was bobbing for apples in a washtub at the top of the slope. Where the water sloshed over, a muddy spot was created and soon all the kids were sliding down the slope in the mud. Then the "big boys" (my DH, his dad, his 5 brothers, and a few cousins) got into it and started sliding and rolling in the mud too. Pretty soon, they started dragging all the women into the mud, even my MIL! I had a three-month old baby, who I held firmly on my lap, so I just got mud rubbed all over my face and arms. But every other person in that yard was covered head to toe. The cousin's yard would never be the same, but that was probably one of the most fun and memorable family get-togethers we've ever had.
