Hope this posts in the correct order - it really is a good lesson for all.

This goes to show the basic need of every being to love and protect. Too bad humans can’t see it.

PORK CHOPS

In a zoo in California , a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs.

Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health.

Although physically she was fine, the veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression.

The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother..

The veterinarians decided to try something
that had never been tried in a zoo environment.

Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species.

The only orphans' that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs.

The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger... Would they become cubs or pork chops?

Take a look...you won't believe your eyes

Now, please tell me one more time .... Why can't the rest of the world get along?

I am sending this to all that love animals.......It is just too cute not to pass along.

Awww - what a wonderful story.

Checking on the veracity of the post (guess I'm just a cynic), I find four different 'hoax-buster' sites all identify that the photos are genuine but the story that accompanies the photos, is not. Sorry to burst this bubble ... I *love* the sentiment!

The photos are from a Thailand zoo, where they intermigle species as exhibits ...

While the premise of this story may not be true it is a fact that people can and do "graft" the babies of certain species onto a mother of the same species. We do it with calves whenever we have to but the "wrappings" must come from the deceased calf. It is also true that animals of different kinds that are raised together will take on the care of the young of other species to a degree. I think many of us have seem this with pets in our own households. An old dog watching over and cleaning small kittens etc. Animals and humans are not so different, we all take care of the young whether they are ours or not.
