Our Great Dane, Mortimer is insane. When it storms he wants to go outside and argue with the thunder and play in the rain. He loves getting wet. Tried to stand out in the hail last month and catch it.First dog I've ever had that wasn't afraid. This dog is not right!

I hear ya. My two dogs werent happy they huddled in the bathroom with me.
That in one thing that I learned from Desperate Housewives. Use your mattress on top of the bath tub. always thought about crouching inside !!

Oh gee, I feel for you Henry -- I too hate severe thunderstorm and tornado weather. Freaks me out...glad you're okay!

We live on hill but the back yard slopes down to a creek. Our back yard is a lake right now. The water is flowing very fast so it's not standing still and rising. It's moving and rising. Very fast current. Part of the hwy is closed, it's underwater. We have flood insurance but I'm not that worried about it getting into the house. If it makes it to the back porch which is two feet lower then the house then my sewing stash will be loaded up along with the dog and cat and we'll be in the closest hotel. I gave all my family pictures to my two daughters some years ago so so I don't have those to lose or think about. (they uploaded every one to an online picture storage site, Yeah ) This is the worst flooding I've seen since we moved here in '91. :?

Glad you are ok.

My niece lives in Raleigh, she said it was bad there too. I saw the pictures of the damaged houses on national news, wow.

Glad you are alright! Also glad you have a plan to save the stash! :D :D It's nice to know what is important! Mine sits near a window, so incase of fire I can throw it out on the front lawn. Just keep an eye on that water, sometimes it can raise really fast.

Glad you made it safe last night Henry. Here in the western part of Stanly County (east of Charlotte) we too had all the watches and warnings up. Thankfully, we only had HEAVY rain and the cell in question lost strength before getting to us. They say this afternoon may be a repeat. Keep a watch out on the weather.
