I have been searching everywhere for something green to wear to my son's wedding. I am not finding anything that is suitable. Either too casual or some awful shade of olive or lime. I need a sage or forest green that will blend with the wedding.

Any ideas? Anything in your closet?
It doesn't even seem to matter that I need a plus size. It has been just as difficult to find something for DD who is a tiny size 4.

I have been to the local mall, all the dress shops I can think of within 20+ miles and even spent hours going through pattern books at Jo Ann's. JC Penney's had one on-line but is out. Now it is too late to order. I have tried Craig's List and EBay.

Wedding is in three weeks. I am stressing!!!!
I need ideas! Thanks!

How do you feel about dyeing something to the shade you want?
I feel your pain...I've had an awful time finding "exactly" what I've needed in the past.
I suppose you've tried David's Bridal--they're often helpful.
Wishing you much luck!

I feel your pain. Last year when I needed a dress for my DD's wedding. I went online. I too am plus size and live in an area with not alot of places to shop. Nordstroms worked for me. Found 5 dresses that looked promising. Bought all 5. One worked and I sent the other 4 back. My DH had a problem with me doing this. Said it wasn't right for the company. But hey I found a fabulous dress that looked great on the Big day. Good Luck

How far away in time is the wedding? Do you have time to make a dress? I just assume that if you're on a quilting board, you must sew. I made the dress I wore to my daughter's wedding. Actually it was a skirt & top with the same material. I'm plus size too, but I found a really flattering pattern and I loved the finished result. I also got shoes to match, and I got lots of compliments on my outfit.

Being on the fluffy side, I have trouble finding things, also. Shopping on line has been a blessing! These two sites tend to ship things within ten days or less and you might find something. Catherine's is better quality, OSP is cheaper but wearable stuff (look at reviews before buying):

Good luck and try to enjoy the wedding!

Yes- I sew clothing too. Hoping not to have to spend the time though. We are having an "after party" at our house and my chore list is long!!

I have to tell you the other part of the story. The bride and her mom started a wedding dress and brought it to me to fix and finish. After taking in, re-sewing, many, many fittings later, my mom and I got the bride to a bridal shop and bought her a dress. The bride will wear the dress she made as her "going away" dress. It was such a relief to find a gown for her - and no alterations! The dress she made was just not bridal-looked like a prom dress- and I couldn't get it to fit right. It was cut wrong and just didn't come out the way the bride envisioned. I just need to hem it again and it will be ready.

After making such a fuss to the bride about her gown, I just want to be able to dress as the bride requests. The green is a big deal to her. I can find lots of things in other colors.

Try Woman Within.com and Roamans.com. I get most of my clothes from there and usually can find something suitable. Prices are reasonable, delivery fast.

Items from both companies are at the One Stop Plus url I gave above. Sometimes it's nice to have several stores on one site for comparisons.

Try looking on Coldwater Creek's website - they can be a bit pricey, but I assume since it's for a wedding that's okay? They have some lovely stuff.
