Really, I'm getting too old for all this strenuous yard work. I need a new weed eater and would like something, not too heavy, that is manageable and easy starting.
I have an electric model but it is not practical for our large yard. I don't think I could hook up enough extension cords to reach. Any suggestions -- brand names, etc. |
I have a worx that I like. It is battery operated.

i had a battery operated one once and it was terrific. don't have a yard now :)

I use a gas light weight from walmart. It weighs less than my battery operated cultivator.

There are gas powered that aren't really heavy. I just made sure to have the straps adjusted correctly to take as much weight off of my arms/shoulders as possible.
When I used the heavier one, I made a harness that went over my shoulders and around my waist to help take even more of the weight off of my arms/shoulders. I added a piece to go across my back and chest, so that the straps stayed up on my shoulders :D:D:D |
What is the make of the gas light weight from Walmart? It sounds good!

I use an electric from Black and Decker, very light. Got it at Home Depot.

My electric mower's batteries died a year or two ago, haven't replaced them yet. Nice yard man named Dan does my lawn and edging, and until my kids come this summer, that mower is staying in the garage.
