Just wondering if anyone on here is a member of Sparkpeople online? It's FREE, I've been a member for a few years but (dropped out) for about a year. Now I'm back on it again and determined this time. I'm also a member of several quilting teams on there, we share our quilt stuff and encourage each other on our weight loss. Y'all check it out, I need some quilting friends on there. :)

Murphy 07-12-2011 11:07 AM

yep.

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ I love it. :)

Never heard of it but I'll check. I've been losing inches more than weight the last few weeks, since I've decided to eliminate gluten from my diet for a while. Since so many family members are allergic to it, I just wondered if my own body had a low grade allergy to it also.

My belt is getting larger even though the scales aren't going down as fast as I'd like.

Jennifer22206 07-12-2011 12:56 PM

Inches are great. :) Trust me.

I belong. Awesome site. I need to get back in gear. i dropped off for abit. : (

zipit 07-12-2011 02:20 PM

Thank you! I think I will join and dump WW. Since they've changed to "Points Plus" I'm not able to successfully follow (or even have) plan. That's kind of a big waster for $40.00 a month.

ladyshuffler 07-12-2011 03:25 PM

Spark is great, because you enter your information and it gives you menu plans to use all ready figured out for you or you can sub from the drop down menus and choose a different one......they have a book out as well as CD for workouts.....just got these so not sure how effective they are as yet., but they have a different kind of work out everyday of the week........but I have watched some form the website and seem like something good and they do not go fast.

I am not aff in any way....just want to say it a great site to join and it is all "FREE"!!

GrannyW5 07-12-2011 05:33 PM

sounds very interesting!

stitchinwitch 07-13-2011 04:31 AM

im gonna have to check them out - thanks

cindit 07-13-2011 05:02 AM

So which is better - sparkpeople.com or myfitnesspal.com?

jodyma 07-13-2011 05:28 AM

Thanks so much for the info. It is imperative that I lose weight and cannot go to WW because of health issues with my husband. He has Alzheimers and cannot be left alone. Just found out yesterday I have high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholestrol, so this will be a God send for me. THANKS THANKS THANKS Now if someone would physically force me to exercise-----------------------

dewie45 07-13-2011 05:53 AM

Might look into this.

jitkaau 07-13-2011 06:28 AM

I was a member, but they send too many emails for my liking.

zipit 07-13-2011 06:37 AM

Now if someone would physically force me to exercise
Exercise is the easiest part of weight loss. The secret is to find one you like. It doesn't matter what you do as long as there is something you'll do. Once that's accomplished, it's no longer a chore.

MarieM 07-13-2011 06:41 AM

I need to check these sites out. I also don't like to exercise, I know you need to find something you like but I just haven't found anything. Has anybody done Wii Zumba? I'm thinking about that.

Good thing about quilting as a hobby, its hard to cut, sew and eat at the same time.

if you do not like to exercise, ZUMBA is not the answer!

instead try Leslie Sanstones stability ball work out!

grocifer 07-13-2011 07:26 AM

Spending too much time on quilting board and never have time to read their emails -- oh well, in my next life..................

Nanjun 07-13-2011 10:21 AM

I belong to SP,but I have been back sliding this year. Can't do the exercises any more.

Meme2six 07-13-2011 12:37 PM

I've been a member for awhile. I'm Marilyn150 on SP. It's a fantastic site. I just need to take more advantage of it. The quilting site I belong to is what got me quilting again when we did a mystery quilt.

mariebaker 07-13-2011 01:36 PM

I will check it out. thanks for the info :-D

I belong to SP too. Have been neglecting it a bit but it sure does help.

meant2be 07-13-2011 11:51 PM

I just joined. Thanks for telling us about it. I am anxious to look into exactly what all they offer but it is 2 a.m. so I better go to bed now.

charity-crafter 07-14-2011 04:28 AM

Has anyone else set up the "my page" We could be each other's friends. Please post a link to your "my page"

jollyquilting 07-14-2011 05:33 PM

Hi My moniker for SP is Jolette and my page is Jo's page. Not too original is it. Best wishes on continuing success.

decky 07-15-2011 05:14 AM

I belong to weight watchers and have lost 23.6 pounds since May. But once I get to my goal I think I might check into this program since its free (more money for sewing!!).

charity-crafter 07-15-2011 05:31 AM

I'm thinking of joining weight watchers.
Do you go to the meetings or online? I like the idea of fruits and veggies not counting. but that's just what I heard. I may be wrong.

LisaR 07-15-2011 05:35 AM

I belong as well havent been there for a few months so time to get back to it
