Today I had safety patrol at my son's new school. I walked for over an hour with another mother. We had a great time just walking, talking and looking after the kids. At the end I was walking back home with my son and tripped on a sidewalk and landed flat on the floor.

Now I have a very scratched right hand pinky and a very badly scratched knee. I was amazed how many people came to help me up, since I was a little out of it for a minute. One guy wouldn't even let my son take my bag because he didn't know he was with me. He picked and protected my phone and my metro card. I couldn't even thank him.

I am now in bed with my knee up. If I walk it starts to bleed again and is very swollen. I can sense a slow weekend coming my way.

So Sorry for your mishap. Hope you will soon be on the run again!

I'm sorry for your accident. New York has a bad reputation sometimes about people being afraid of or unconcerned about people they don't know. It's a safety thing I guess. It is so refreshing to hear that someone took the responsibility of caring for you after you fell. There are many other places in this country and the world where you would have been on your own. Get well quickly and keep us posted on your progress.
