Oh man. I haven't seen the movie; if you have, and liked it, maybe you'll be prepared for the book. I started reading the book, and while I can say it is the most lyrically written post-apocalyptic book I've ever read (the writing is great), I had to stop reading about 60% of the way through. Just too, too dark for me. I looked up a plot synopsis, and it is possible that the ending offers a ray of hope, but I just couldn't slog through the grimness in between.

What I'm reading now: er, nothing, really. Periodically skimming through various pregnancy/labor books (I'm due in three weeks) and yesterday I finished a book called "Throwaway" by Heather McDuff (I think that's the author's name). Haven't started a new one yet.
