What to charge for making a minky throw

I have a really hard time deciding what to charge for making something other than a quilt or quilting someones quilt. Can I get some suggestions please?

Cost of materials X 3

In general it would also depend on how much time, effort and expertise you put into it.

It depends also if customer is providing all fabrics and supplies. Your time is important too. You need to count how many hours you are working on the project also.

Customer supplied the fabric. Was looking for a $ amt. to charge. Was wondering if $20 or $25 was to much to charge. Project was fleece and plush fabric.

think about how much you value your time and expertise. if you only charge 20-25 how long did it take you to make it? I wouldn't do it for anything less than $10 per hour and that is still too low in my thinking.

Consider that the person you are doing this for may show the piece to a friend who then wants you to make one for her. Will you be willing to do this for the same price?

I assume from your answer that I should charge more?

Is there any piecing involved or is it just two pieces of material sewn together and turned? I would base my price on how much work is involved. Tell her a price per hour with an estimate on how long you expect it to take.
