Moved Mom to a nursing home and in clearing out her "stuff" I found a baggie with coins from a lot of different countries she had travelled to in the '80s. Where do I turn to find out value or cash these in? Any ideas??

If you like them, keep them as momentos. Even if you could exchange them all, you would not get much would be my guess.

A baggie sounds suspeciously like about $10 worth. Your kids might like to have them. I have a very impressive looking 10,000 wan bill from South Korea. It is worth about $3.

Check out numismatic sites on the web or visit a coin specialist. If any are in cases or frames don't take them out and handle them, they may be mint. Unless your Mom had a habit of buying or collecting coins, they are most likely just loose change from overseas shopping trips. If after checking dates/values you still don't want them contact a coin collector's group in your area, banks and exchanges usually only cash notes.

We still have some Canadian monies (a 5 dollar bill and some change) laying around. Sadly, it is probably worth more than the money in my wallet all 4 bucks......LOL

Oh well, I very rarely carry cash......haha

Find someone born in those years and give it to them?

Got any grandkids who might like them? Probably not worth much, sounds like pocket change and they are not that old.

Donate them to a social studies teacher to use in class. Very few children have the opportunity to see foreign currency and it's really interesting to compare it to our own.
