What to do with leftover H&B fusible batting!
I've been in a fall cleaning mood the last couple of days, think its the cooler temps outside. Anyway, I was needing something better than paper towels to wrap down the kitchen cabinets. The green scrub pad would be too abrasive so I keep looking around the house for something else I could use( we're in a old house that has a ton of paint on the cabinets so I wasn't too worried about hurting them). I picked up a scrap of the H&B fusible batting and realized it was pretty strong stuff but near as rough as the green pad. My cabinets haven't looked this good in a long time. All I used was square of the batting and Windex. Removed all the fingerprints and build-up grime. I will be buying a pack just for cleaning and a second one for quilting! Chris

Wow, who knew?? great find.

I was surprised how well it held up to scrubbing. It certainly isn't like ordinary batting!

That is awesome.

I love when we think outside the box and re-purpose our stuff. Good thinking.

Cleaning? Windex? I don't understand. I am a quilter, those things do not compute in my brain. How do you apply them to quilting? No grubby hands are allowed to touch my fabric cabinets so there is no grime on them. I keep them rubbed clean by constantly going in to pet and fondle my lovely fabrics.
I do sweep the floor now and then, but that is mostly when I run low on bobbins and other small items that do the drop and roll and I need to gather them up again. I really do think that is all I need to know about cleaning... Windex.... hmmmm, can you iron with it like sizing or starch? |
We understand each other completely! Once in a while I come out of my "den" to find out that there is a inch of dust everywhere and just don't understand why. I think its the Centrum Silver vitamins to blame, got kinds of energy!

Wildyard has said it all!

Shhhhhh! Don't tell my HD. He would expect more from me. LOL They say a woman is a multi tasker. Not me. I can't clean (dirty word) & sew (good word)at the same time.

Don't they say that necessity is the mother of invention?
