What To Do With My Wedding Dress

It sits in a box. I wore it once. It's no use to others because they wear white these days.

I'm in a cleaning mode and part of me just wants to toss it. Help.

Gorgeous dress! Any grand daughters? Perhaps make them some little purses and dresses. Or baby doll quilts, a memory quilt to hand down.

Oh my goodness, it is so beautiful! how about some of the places that do reenactments or tourists places that show how folks lived at certain times. they would be grateful for a dress already made!

I agree. There must be some need for a lovely dress like that. Have you thought of selling it on eBay?? Or contacting the Renaissance fair??

How about a community theatre group? I could see it used in several plays. I do like the unique look of both of your outfits for a wedding!

What a lovely photo! It would be a shame to get rid of it or and please don't cut up your dress. I think you should hold on to it, says the woman with her prom dress and wedding dress from 1969 and 1976! It won't take up that much room.

I like the idea of a reinactment place. Does your husband have his to give as well?

You are in luck. Last night at our guild meeting, that very subject came up about what some people do with their wedding dresses if no one else will use them. Our guild was asked to make tiny blankets, hats and gowns for babies that are born too early and do not live. They are dressed up and swaddled in order for their loved ones to hold them. The hospital told us some of the gowns were made from wedding dresses. Most hospitals have a contact for organizations that sew the gowns and donate them. Some hospitals call them Angel babies, whom wear these gowns.

I had to look twice at your picture....You look exactly like my sister! Btw, that is a beautiful dress.

Charlotte, NC has a Renaisscance Festival every year. It goes on for about a month on the weekends. You might check with them to see if they have a need.
