What to do with wool top coat?

I've got a large men's wool top coat that I don't know what to do with now. The wool seems to be in decent shape, but the lining is in shreds. My son has purchased a new one, so I don't need it anymore. I can't afford to replace the lining and then just give the coat away. But I don't think any charity could use the coat without the lining. Any thoughts?

You could use the wool for felted wool craft projects.

The coat can be recycled into felted wool projects or made over into a teddy bear for a remembrance .... or maybe another project. Trying to repair the lining could be expensive but maybe somebody else could.

I wonder if I offered it in the free section if I would have any takers. I don't work with wool, makes me itch.

I have relined a wool coat and it came out great!! Used flannel-backed lining for extra warmth. If you know someone who works with the homeless they might appreciate it for the warmth.

Oh gosh I hadn't thought about a local homeless shelter, I think that is what I will do with it. Thanks for the idea!
