Used sewing machine needles are great for hanging pictures cuz they go in small & then flare slightly. Very strong.

Great idea - we have always used regular straight pins at an angle to the wall to hang light weight things - told to us by a Home Interior dealer.

I have gotton a syringe container from local drug store that people use that are diabetics or others who use them at home, when full take back to drug store or sometimes drop off at local hospital and they dispose of them where they do no harm to others.

I put mine in a old medicine bottle with a child proof cap. Then I throw them away safely.

I have little cases that I got from Fons and Porter for old needles to discard them in. They are plastic and it holds quite a few needles, I think there were two or three cases in a package. That or you can use a piece of cork or the pill container as many others have suggested.
