What kind of weather are you having?

We went from unseasonably hot to unseasonably cold! The AC got turned off and the heat turned on.
I can't warm up. It takes me awhile to adjust to temperature changes.
I have to say though, that I was really tired of the heat. I'd rather put layers on than wish I could run around naked :D

grannie cheechee 10-23-2018 04:00 AM

I'm with you. We still haven't been able to turn off the a. c.. Our cold wave was 54 at night, and by nine o'clock its in the high 70's and climbing. I' rather wrap in a quilt than keep peeling off clothes.

Joset 10-23-2018 04:17 AM

we are having rather nice weather it gets around 30s at night but high 50 and sunny during the day. compared to the
first two weeks in october.

QuiltnNan 10-23-2018 04:58 AM

The first day I went out in the cold [50s] I was wearing a light jacket and got chilled to the bone. I was only out in it about 10 minutes. It took me over an hour indoors to warm up. That was about 10 days ago. I think I've adjusted now. I'm enjoying the cooler weather.

cashs_mom 10-23-2018 05:19 AM

We have gone from hot, hot, hot a few weeks ago to rain. Every day it rains. This has been going on for a couple weeks. While I like the cooler weather, I'm not a fan of all this rain.

Tartan 10-23-2018 05:31 AM

Shorts and a coat in the same week was a bit much but I am getting used to the cooler weather this week.

tranum 10-23-2018 05:40 AM

Beautiful October here. Colors are gorgeous on our side of town so enjoying them to the fullest. 32 this morning but will get in high 50’s today.

I'm with you SuzieQ. I can only take off so many clothes before becoming indecent.

we had beautilful sunny days with full color bright reds and yellows in Maine and then we came west to our winter home -- Not rain this time -- just fog - fog- FOG.

Chasing Hawk 10-23-2018 08:43 AM

This week in our part of the forest....

Highs in the mid 60's, lows in the mid 30's. Thursday and Friday we have a 20-30% chance of rain, which means around here just a lot of clouds.

Anniedeb 10-23-2018 09:07 AM

We've been all over the map. We've had snow, wind and rain. Yesterday was cool and crisp, today started sunny, but now has started to cloud up. Mid 40's, might hit 50. Good chance of rain Thur - Sun. Basically just routine Minnesota weather. If we wait ten minutes, it will change!

dunster 10-23-2018 09:37 AM

Highs in the 80's, lows in the 50's, beautiful weather. No need for either heat or a/c. We had some rain earlier this month, unusual for October.

Jingle 10-23-2018 02:17 PM

Lows in upper 30s - low 40s, during the day upper 60s. A jacket feels very good. We are finishing up yard work and trimming bushes. Husband took hoses off faucets. We can just watch the leaves turn colors and fall off.

SillySusan 10-23-2018 02:34 PM

Last week it was in the 80s here. Now it feels like it's freezing!! Down in the 30's this AM. We went straight from the AC to the heat. In NC, we are used to having a couple of weeks when we don't need AC or heat. No big electric or natural gas bills. Not this year! Phooey!!

quiltingshorttimer 10-23-2018 07:51 PM

we've had such crazy weather--too cold spring, then leaped into summer with a heat wave and drought. Then early Sept. we got about 8" of rain in 3 days, and again in early Oct we got 9-12" in 2 days and flooding all over the county (and one death) and now we are having wonderful fall weather. Our local weatherman grew up in SoCal and loves the fact that in KC, no one can really predict the weather more than a day out!

WMUTeach 10-24-2018 02:36 AM

Michigan has much the same as Ohio at this time. We had a week of 80 degrees followed by a near freezing morning a couple of days later. It seems we have settled in the near freezing mornings and 40/50 degree days. Don't know if this is normal, but it is easier to decide what to wear...... sweaters and socks.

sandy l 10-24-2018 03:04 AM

Same here for northern Ind.

I was bummed that we missed most of the color this season because we took a trip to London/Scotland for 3 weeks. It is now chilly at night and in the 40-50’s during the day. We are getting a lot of rain (last night) and today and some places got some wet snow this morning. A nor’easter coming up this weekend...

pocoellie 10-24-2018 03:37 AM

Nights are getting chilly, 32, days are warmer, 63 is supposed to be the high, so not bad. After today, the next 4 days are supposed to be low 70's, then mid 50's, again not bad.

It’s been a nice Fall in Maine. Did run AC a couple of days but I love winter and we got a touch of snow this morning. Love winter fun, clothes and lots of quilts to snuggle under.

SooBDo 10-24-2018 07:43 AM

We've got rain, rain, and more rain! We're in the 40's for the most part. You can see the snow creeping down the mountains. It won't be long. There's flooding around South-central Alaska, and high winds in areas. That's why our favorite boots are Extra Tuffs!

mamagrande 10-24-2018 12:11 PM

We are having nice fall weather 70s - 80s daytime and 40s-50s night...a little rain early Oct but mostly dry and dusty.. It is nice gardening weather. Have lots of pomegranetes and persimmons, the tangerines are getting color, I love this weather.

barny 10-24-2018 12:57 PM

Texas, it just rains every day it seems. It is raining now.

Cheshirepat 10-24-2018 01:07 PM

Odd fall here in AZ. We're on our 3rd hurricane blowing through now? Most of Oct has been still 90's plus, but it's finally broken down into the upper 80's. Oh joy.
I was just in NY where the weather was just as odd... mid-80's and rain/rain/repeat and then it broke an overnight was like 60's. But hey, it's NY, that's the norm! :)

csharp 10-24-2018 05:23 PM

Warm and lovely here, but too humid for some, but well....it's Florida folks.

tuckyquilter 10-24-2018 05:41 PM

Oct24, 2018.. about 74º, sunny with a light ocean breeze during the day. It's been in the low 60's high 50's during the night time. I'm north of Los Angeles very close to the coast. Lovely weather almost year round.

mtngrl 10-25-2018 07:17 AM

Hi, I'm from the lower central part of the Canadian prairies. It has been unseasonably cool here. We spent the first two weeks of September in the Black Hills of SD where it was in the mid 80's, back home it has ranged from 60 down to low 30's we have even had a couple of snowy days, that is early even for us. I think I need to move closer to tuckyquilter 😊

Mariposa 10-25-2018 07:25 AM

We've been having lovely weather here. Low/mid 30's, to highs of mid-60's. Leaves have been dropping. We could use some rain too.

sewnclog 10-25-2018 07:26 AM

Well lots of rain the past 10 days to 2 weeks; temps in the beginning were 40's and 50's; today a damp 60's (so makes it cold to me) but the weekend sunny and temps up the the low 80's; then dropping - again. Weird for sure.

quilt9226 10-25-2018 11:48 AM

rain, but it is welcome since we have had a dry summer. It's in the 50s. The only problem with the rain is it's the misty kind and visibility while driving is dicey. I would much rather have larger drops than the mist. It also makes walking the dog interesting because pedestrians where I live are risking their lives (no sidewalks, fast drivers and those who ignore crosswalks with people in them.

carolynjo 10-26-2018 05:23 AM

Our summer is officially over. Cold rain today. Interestingly, leaves still on trees but no color yet. Dread winter.

Rhonda K 10-26-2018 08:46 AM

The AC is still running every day here on the East Coast of FL. Today is 86 degrees. Outside projects are delayed due to heat and humidity. It is shorts and t shirt weather most days for us.

madamekelly 10-26-2018 11:56 AM

We have finally achieved September weather.....

Nerys 11-11-2018 09:24 AM

Rain, grey day cloudy no light for hand sewing hand quilting.....nearing start of dusk now.
