What a surprise package!

My dear friend received a box in the mail with 4 beautiful fabrics and a pattern. She couldn't figure out who would have sent such a lovely surprise until she reached the bottom of the box and there was the picture of her DIL's ultrasound.

Pure joy....first grandchild!

Her DIL's mother knits, so she received yarn, pattern and of course the picture.

Thought I'd share her happy moment.

What a creative way to find out your going to be a grandparent. For us my DSIL came over Christmas Eve and put a big sign in our yard that said MERRY CHRISTMAS LOVE BABY ANDERSON. al of a sudden I am on the phone calling my daughter who has been trying for the past couple years to have a child. Package arrives in August and found out we also have one in September . Enjoy your new grand baby !!!!

What a great way to annouce a coming baby..my DD wrapped a little box with a tiny hair bow in it and put it under the Christmas tree...I must say that it took me a couple of minutes to figure it out..thought she had done what I've done so many times, put the wrong name on the pkg..but finally I realized that we were going to be grandparents...coulnd't have been happier...

Mariposa 02-11-2013 06:16 AM

What a fun way to announce it!

maryb119 02-11-2013 06:42 AM

Great idea!!!! DIL is wonderful. Not only did she ask Grandma for a quilt but she provided the fabric and pattern so she got what she wanted.

How cute! I love it!

kuntryquilter 02-12-2013 04:08 AM

When my grandson & his wife became pregnant their announcement to me was a phone call. His words were, 'Grandma do you think you could take my BDU's and cut them up to make me a diaper bag?' Of course I made a diaper bag from his BDU's. They live in Washington State, I live in Tennessee.

lillybeck 02-12-2013 04:54 AM

What a great way to make that announcement. I do not think I will have any more grandchildren now. My oldest just turned 26 and the youngest will be 1 in April. However the GGB's are still coming.

Karen G 02-12-2013 07:03 AM

Great idea, wonderful surprize!

tenngal 02-12-2013 03:06 PM

We should all be so lucky as to have a DIL like that instead of one who turns up her nose at everything you make.

nstitches4u 02-12-2013 04:20 PM

What a great way to tell the grandmas-to-be the news!

red-warrior 02-12-2013 06:21 PM

I like how that girl thinks!!! Bet GM was not only thrilled with the baby but also the fabric and quilt to work on!
