Not my cupa tea. But I guess I can live with it.

No big deal, you scroll down and it's gone from view.

I think it's great to see a board member being supported by the ad. :D

For me, it is a big deal. I don't like it at all. I paid a premium fee on another forum to not have to look at ads like this. This is the first on this forum. But how many more will follow? I hope this forum doesn't get bombarded with ads.

Hey Admin, how ya doing? Glad to see you are always present.
not kidding. some forums don't have such dedicated people. thanks for all your help.

Hi Ruth,

It hasn't been removed. It's still here:

http://www.quiltedparadise.com/n/977-owz.jsp

As a matter of fact, the newsletter announcement about this e-book has just been released.

I understand about the blinking, but that's a trade-off. The more noticeable the ad, the less the is amount of time it needs to run to make sure everyone has seen it.

I would hate to have to run a (less distracting) ad for 3 months in the same prominent spot on the board, when I can run an ad that blinks for just a few days, and then remove it.

The result will be the same, but the total amount of distraction caused by the promotion will be much less in the long run.

Hmm, I'm going to change the banners and make them blink a little bit slower.

Hopefully, that'll make them easier to look at, while at the same time getting as much attention from those who haven't seen them yet.

Ninnie 04-22-2009 08:43 AM

Right on, Nativetexan! LOL

Admin, just want you to know that I admire your gift of diplomacy. You handle and respond to situations...."issues" as it were.....very well. I believe it is a strength. Well done. It's not always easy to juggle different opinions in such tactful ways.

BTW, the blinking ad got my curiosity going, so I checked in on it. I ordered the E-book and like it.

mochasue 04-22-2009 09:44 AM

It bugs me. Just my opinion. Sorry.

mochasue 04-22-2009 09:48 AM

Edit.....
Much better done at bottom of page with slower blinking ad.

I can deal with it! Thanks for your attention! You are awesome!
