What are these?

I purchased 3 totes full of fabric and found these. There are 5 different shapes, about 50 in each stack except the bottom right which has about 10 and those have a notch in each one. They are flannel. I have no clue what they are for, any ideas?

I don't sew clothing at all but could they be the beginnings of shoulder pads?

Minnesewta-sam 06-19-2013 02:41 PM

My guess is the start of making teddy bears. Looks like some of the head pattern pieces I have used in the past.

If they were cotton, I might guess pieces for a butterfly appliqué quilt. Since they are flannel, I am voting for teddy bear pieces.

Flower pieces? Stuffed animal parts-??

bluteddi 06-19-2013 03:22 PM

I agree... they look like teddy bear parts

sweetpea 06-19-2013 04:03 PM

They look to be cut a way from making sleeping pants.

A couple of the shapes make me think of butterfly wings.

kitsykeel 06-19-2013 07:09 PM

Could they possibly be used for bean bags in different shapes? I have made many in flannel but usually just make squares or circles.

sewmerry 06-19-2013 07:36 PM

Could they be pieces left over after cutting something else out? At the quilt shop in town I have purchased similar shapes of scraps . Just a guess...

My guess is they are pieces for stuffed animal, Bears, Puppies? They are similar to some stuffies I did a while ago.

I think they are shoulder pads. See what you can make with them.

PATTIESPEARL 06-20-2013 11:25 AM

My guess is sunbonnet Sue.

mandyrose 06-20-2013 11:33 AM

Geez I hope you find out I go with teddy bear/animals as some pieces look to have a snout or maybe it's just me........... pretty fabric for flannel

mjhaess 06-20-2013 11:56 AM

Looks like ears for some stuffed animal..

Latrinka 06-20-2013 03:30 PM

Maybe the ears to something? Some look like butterfly wings maybe?!

Cut away scraps from flannel p.j's--from some garment factory? They cut garments in many layers at a time with the lasers. Oh Lordy--how often I wish for a laser cutter!!

I thought shoulder pads too!

Suz 06-21-2013 06:56 AM

I, too, think they are pieces to a stuffed bear and a pretty one at that.

donnalynett 06-21-2013 11:31 AM

Look like factory cut-a-ways.

Central Ohio Quilter 06-21-2013 11:46 AM

They look like parts of a flower or butterfly waiting to be appliquéd.
