What is WASHI Tape?

I saw a blog using WASHI tape on just about everything but have no idea what it is. Have you ever used it? Interesting and fun looking.

In case you're looking for it, the craft stores carry it (Hobby Lobby, Michael's), and I've seen it at WalMart, as well.

A friend of mine uses it behind cut out sections of her cards. For example, if she has cut the silhouette of a kangaroo, she places strips of the washi tape behind it and it has the effect of looking like Aboriginal art. It is very attractive.

I've seen a very cute use of it on embroidery hoops to cover the wooden edge when using the hoop as a frame to some embroidery. The tape can be pricey, though, so shop around!

Go to Pinterest and type in Washi Tape in the search box and a million projects will come up using the new decorative tape. The newest rage with kids.
