I found this on the Knox Tn Craigs list.
http://knoxville.craigslist.org/art/2226594936.html Am I reading this correctly? $70.00 and hour to teach hand quilting? Gee am I red faced. I teach anyone that will listen for free. :) |
HOLY fabric batman....I took a 6 week class for much less than that!
Like you, I also like to teach anyone who shows an interest in hand work of any kind! I taught hand piecing for $5 an hour in Alaska! They took 2 hours a day for 4 days. |
Did you notice that she included her name and phone number??
Not a good idea :( I also think that's an outrageous price! |
Well, shoot, I'm going to order up a party of 4 then:> That would only be let see...4 people x $70= $280 x 4 hrs.= $1,120!! But maybe she'll be generous and knock of a smidge. Yikes.
|
way too much...I am taking a quilting lesson 40 for 6 weeks. Its not hand quilting but for me 40.00 is fair for 6 weeks and it gets me out of the house.

Yeah, I agree with you Carol.
|
A friend of mine taught me during a hand quilting bee she hosted at her home. What a great time to sit, sew, and chat with friends.
|
Our local Senior Center has a quilting group and the ladies will teach any techniques they know for free. I agree $70 is too much.
|
I paid $10 for a one hour lesson 30+ years ago and considered it well spent. It was the only formal quilt education I ever had, the rest is self taught.
|
I am moving to the States! Wow, I teach hand quilting for free here.
