I just made a PopUP and it cost me about $18 for the pattern, fabric, and safety pins (didn't have any :)). I would agree that $10 would probably be fair. There is a gal that is selling pincushions at one of the LQS (stacked type) for around $20 and thread catchers with a pincushion for around $25 or $30.

I like this idea.

I made one as a gift & it took forever. Yours are very nicely done.

Great idea as they are really beautiful. You did a really nice job. I made baskets and it took a long time also with some hand sewing.

I would buy something a bit larger. I used a bread crumb can, and I wish it were a bit larger.

$8-10, max. You will never recover the cost of all your time, no matter what the market.

I saw this YouTube video on how to make a thread catcher and had to make some for me. I used a bread crumb can for the diameter. When I cut the 1/2" slices out of the can, I had enough to make 13 thread catchers.

I don't need that many so I am going to donate the excess to the local quilt show boutique. They have asked for a suggested price. My response is that whatever price you put on it, it's not enough. I have been working on these for months. They are all hand sewn and take a long time to finish. If you saw this at the boutique, how much would you be willing to pay for one?

My brother in law makes them - gorgeous. I had him make one for my mother for Christmas one year and it has a sweet little lid with a knob on it. I had him print "Puzels". Puzels are strands of thread from anywhere you are sewing. It is pronounced poozels. German extraction - Old German. I am fourth generation using that word for the little threads! Edie

Very nicely done. I made these thread catchers that were triangle in shape and much easier to make.
