Just finished reading A Wedding Shawl by Sally goldenbaum. Very good - mystery. She has other books also.

Judy

I've just started that book - seems to be pretty good.

I just stared reading "The Forgotten Garden" by Kate Morton. It's about a little girl that shows up alone on the docks in Australia in about 1913. I should have books on tape so I can quilt and listen at the same time.

I just finished a wonderful book (most likely written for late elementary or middle school youth) by Kekla Magoon. She is an award winning writer, who has other books to her credit already, although she is probably still in her 20s. The book I read was "Camo Girl" - she has also written "The Rock and the River" for which she was nominated for the NAACP Image award. She won the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talen award.
Kekla won't remember me, but I remember her when she, her brother and her parents were members of the church I joined in the late 1980s in Fort Wayne, IN. I recommend it to anyone but especially to those fighting bullying or who know special needs kids or kids who get picked on by the "in crowd."

I always get my books from our library. Tulsa has a wonderful library system. I request them online and they e-mail me when it is ready. I have about 30 on request now (7 checked out). Problem is, they come in at the same time!!! It's been ages since I actually bought a book (except quilting books!) because it's so easy to get the book from the library. Even if I have to wait awhile.

I'm reading a non-fiction book called "Plain Wisdom: An Invitation into an Amish Home and the Hearts of Two Women" by Cindy Woodsmall & Miriam Flaud. Cindy Woodsmall is one of my favorite authors and this book is great. I just started it last night.
