unemployed and looking. It's a jungle out there!

RN-unemployed due to corporate restructure, and looking for FT wk.

I have been an RN for the past 30 years. Most of my career has been in Labor and Delivery. I am now Director of Women's Services. I love what I do. I can't imagine doing anything else.

Started at the AT&T telephone in MIchigan after high school. Worked my way up to supervisor of billing. Quit for 13 years to raise family. Moved to Illinois and went back to work at Ill. AT&T in accounting again working my way to supervisor of Accounting Methods in the headquarter building in Chicago. Service was bridged so I retired with 30 years of service. Have been retired since 1990 and don't know where the years have gone to.

Unemployed technical support specialist (software support). In my over 2 1/2 yrs since job ended, I've become too old to hire and irrelevant. I have 2 yrs to early retirement so as long as hubby can support us, I'm delighted to stay home.

well I've had many jobs so I will try to remember them all;
First job ever was delivering Newspapers and also did yard work and winter snow removal for my customers. I also helped out with building new homes and house repairs with my dad and brothers.
Then I worked at a High's Ice cream parlor.
As a hobby I worked on cars. I had 9 brothers so we had many to play with.
Then I cleaned toilets at a big company because that was the only job opening they had & I needed the money. Once an opening came up in the company for a industrial mechanic's helper, I took it on. There I worked with all types of equipment as well as learned to do sheet metal work, welding, pipe fitting, electrical wiring and all types of stuff.
From there I got a job as a TAB Tech, which I tested and balanced heating & Ac units along with all types of water units.

Then I crushed my foot, I could not walk for about 5 years (the doctors said I never would walk again but I showed them) During those 5 years, I taught myself to do wood working and set up my own shop so I could work around not being able to walk with out falling on my face. I did that for a long time while forcing myself to learn to walk again.

I got tired of doing work for people that did not appreciate how much time and effort went into doing the wood working so I started sewing for the 4H clubs around my area. That lead into a business of sewing for many people and I stayed doing that for many years until I moved into the country.

My last job before just quite was working from home, posting loads on the internet for truck drivers. I was posting loads for over 500 companies all over the US, Canada & Mexico. This was a very boring job but the money was good.

Now I'm retired and do as a dang well please. I wouldn't change a thing!

Not a job but a pleasure, I now quilt for soldiers!

Registered Respiratory Therapist for 40 years...retired 5 years ago due to a screamin' demon boss and boy! am I happy! Now I'm a self-employed long-armer and enjoying life!

First job...annoying phone room person...called you during dinner, etc. Got fired the 2nd day on the job. I didn't know the supervisor was listening to our calls...If I called and it sounded like a nice person...I would say, "Yes, mam/sir, I'll take you off our calling list.", and off they would go..they didn't ask...I just did it..lol...oops!
They put me as a cashier in the used stuff shop... stopped in at a Fabricland...and they hired me...was not the best place..manager was a pill...stopped in at 7-11 for a soda...they asked if I needed a job...yep, I did...worked there several years...moved to Calif...worked for Fabricland for three years or so... then for a RTA furniture manufacturer for seven or so years (customer service, parts tech), last was as a receptionist, AP person for a Landscape & maintainence company. In between those, owned an upholstery shop, used furniture shop, volunteered at a high school in the attendance office & home ec class...now I am at home & do quilting...may find something local to do if I get bored.

Interesting careers, it's amazing though how jobs change within themselves, due to technology and the times. Even jobs such as nursing must be different than they were 30 years ago. How about teaching, I'm sure attitudes and laws have changed your profession considerably. Accountants, now with computer programs. It's interesting

Construction / D&D laborer. Have worked govt. sites for 10 years.
