It's not too early to think about Christmas! Which quilting gifts are you planning on giving and hoping to receive? I just hinted to DH for EQ6 and I saw him write it down and put in his wallet! As for giving, I have 1 quilt for guild charity and 1 for a family member. Also knitting a baby cardigan for my baby granddaughter and sewing her a special Christmas dress.

I'm thinking that EQ 6 just may get put on my wish list. After reading all the posts of people talking and raving about it....
Don't know what's on everyone else's list yet....

I plan on making 2 quilts as gifts, I better get busy!

I'm in a class and graduating Nov 15. We meet 3 times per week and I've experienced a lot of personal growth since I started in January. To celebrate, I'm making quilts for my 3 classmates and 1 teacher. I have 1 that I'm in the process of binding, and the other 3 quilt tops are made, so next is quilting.

Then, I have a Xmas quilt for DB (dear boyfriend :D), and 2 I'd like to get done for friends. Those are quilt tops still in progress... oh, and chili pepper placemats for my mom and DB's mom.

EQ6 would be awesome!
AccuQuilt Go Cutter with dies
Extension table for my sewing machine
Curvemaster presser foot

My wish list!!

As for giving, I would like to make the Bow Tucks pattern for some friends. My kids...I have no idea yet...DH....totally not sure. :?:

No real desires for myself yet. But for my DD's I made the oldest an owl tote and the youngest an owl pillow. For DH I am making a chocolate lab wall hanging. I am making wallets for my sister and niece. I just got started making key fobs and am sure that someone will get one for christmas. And as usual I am making matching pjs for myself and DD's (this year I have an extra pair as my youngest is only 7mos:))

SulaBug 09-29-2009 10:36 PM

I haven't thought about my list of
wants yet!! :D However, I am sewing
2 pair of pj's for my 3 year old grandson,
I set of pj's for DGD, several sets of
kaleidoscope trivets, 2 fun & done table
topper's & whatever else I can finish in
time for the holiday's!!
:D :D :D :D

Other than orders saying we are leaving here and tickets to go along with it? Nope, no clue as to what I want. As years have gone by, there really isn't anything that I really REALLY want. Sure, there are needs, but those are different.

I'll make gifts for the family, and friends. But for myself ; I'm not doing Christmas this year.

mcdaniel023 09-30-2009 01:20 AM

All I want for Christmas is : A sewing machine with a longer throat and my kids home for Christmas! My DH would be afraid to purchase a machine and my DS goes to the inlaws 5 hours away and my DD comes home a few days after Christmas. So, I guess I will just have to wish. :(
Gifts to give: I have 5 lap quilt tops done and 3 more to go and then some quilt machine quilting and all siblings, my mom and my DS family will all get a blankie to keep them warm this winter. Each is made with their special interest or hobby or color. It has been a lot of fun. I hope I can get them all done.

Esqmommy 09-30-2009 05:12 AM

I want a roller suitcase for my sewing machine.

I also want EQ6, and possibly an accu-quilt dye cutter.

We'll see, hubby still does not have a job. It may just be that Santa comes for the kids and not mom/dad this year!

Mousie 09-30-2009 10:14 AM

I want a laptop, and that and a couple? dollars will get you a cup of coffee. (I hear some Starbucks are 8.00!)
So, I will be happy if I get certain projects finished by then.
Will give my big kids and hubbies, money in a card, homemade goodies (edibles), and maybe some small things, like ornaments.
The grandbabies...I don't know yet. Have to talk to their mommies.
Me and hubby usually pick out our gift and I wrap them up.
I'll probably get some fabric like last year, and everybody laughs when I open it and feign surprise and glee

I would love all my kids home for Christmas...will have to settle for 2 out of 3... Maybe next year though  :D :D

mytwopals 09-30-2009 11:58 AM

Seeing my mom and dad for XMAS. They weren't able to make it last year.

Boston1954 09-30-2009 02:01 PM

I told my husband and sister that if it is not chocolates, perfume, fabric, or movies, they should save their money. I have reached the age where I have started giving things away. No room anyhow.........

Pam B 09-30-2009 03:48 PM

I love gift certificates to my LQS...that is the gift that is most fun for me. There is really nothing that I truly want/need....and with 2 daughters in college right now, we have cut back a little bit on Xmas. I enjoy making gifts for others...several family members are getting lap quilts, etc. Of course, I would truly LOVE a new serger and a new embroidery machine, but I think those will have to wait a couple of years. :) Honestly, I love most everything about the holidays...the meaning, the decorating, the sounds & smells...but I truly could do without the frantic 'spend everything you have plus some' retail push.

Barbm 09-30-2009 04:42 PM

I don't usually make a list since I "treat" myself all year long. Making potholders and casserole carriers for my girls (5) and throws for the girls at the office (3). And I want to make a table runner for myself and teach myself to make the folded star ornaments I didn't get to last year.

Trying not to make too much pressure for myself. Will decorate this year since the babies are a little older.

barnbum 09-30-2009 05:38 PM

EQ6--maybe. I'm worried I'll quilt even less. I'm down to weekends now.

And shavings and horse treats and horse feed..... That's what I ask for for my b-day, too.

I've started getting a few things. Some honey for Justin's girl, some maple syrup for Rachel. Some hand stuff for them. Justin wants a rachet thingy--we'll pick that up.

This is my thought exactly! :D

As for giving, I'm doing 3 lap quilts - two for kids I know and one for an adult friend. Beyond that I haven't thought. I think Joey will get a new bike as he's out grown his, don't know about Lily yet, but she won't care as long as it's PINK! :D
