when your Dish goes on the fritz....
 

I only work on M-W-F so planned to work on a friend's quilt on the LA today and wanted to check the news first--our Dish is not working and where we live, without it, it means no tv. So I got the whole quilt done today, sitting here listening the rest of a books on tape (love these ones from the library where you plug in your own earphones and tuck the MP3 player into a pocket and go!), playing on computer. Since Dish is saying that it will be 2-5 days before they get a new box to us, I'm figuring that I will get a lot done this week!

I also love audiobooks. Aren't they great?

We haven't had tv in 12 years or so, have never missed it but it only happened by accident, we took the dish down to tear down the old garage, and by the time the new one was built we couldn't be bothered with tv :)

edited to add: we do have a nice library of DVDs and we watch those in the evening. Midsomer Murders etc. Our internet connectivity is so spotty you tube and netflix etc and not worth trying.

When I got divorced I cut out cable TV. Havne't missed it at all. DVDs from the library.
