Where to buy PUL fabric?

I want to make cloth diapers and am searching for a reasonable source for PUL (waterproof) fabric. Haven't been to my local J's yet, but maybe they have it. If you have made diapers where did you get your sewing supply.

I ordered mine from Joanns.

Thanks, Libster.

I've seen the 'outdated' prints at Tuesday Morning, but you have to buy the entire bolt.

KwiltyKahy 03-29-2014 05:21 AM

Hancock's carries it.

I was amazed when I saw whole bolts of PUL at my local Tuesday Morning - for only $20 or $25 bucks each!

Yes, JoAnn Fabric stores have it - many to choose from. HTH

Quilty-Louise 03-29-2014 07:13 AM

At my local Tuesday Morning they have some. I just bought a
WHOLE bolt of a medium blue for $20. They only had a couple
solid colors and a couple print.

I found the PUL at Joann's but not in the fabric department it
was in the area where they have the Babyville Boutique snaps
and stuff.

TM also had the same Babyville Boutique snap pliers for $9.99
heck of a good deal very sturdy and works better (in my opinion)
than the Dritz snap pliers.

thank you. I just went online and ordered from Fabric.com and ordered some in white for me by the yard. Free shipping on orders over $35.

sandyl 03-30-2014 03:28 AM

I ordered the babyville snaps and wicking fabric on sale at J's online for 50% off. Think I got a good deal. Now if only I had the PUL on hand. Maybe this will require a trip to J's today.

sandyl 03-30-2014 03:29 AM

Susanna10, I thought you had to buy the whole bolt from fabric.com. I need to check that out.

lindalou 03-30-2014 03:58 AM

What is PUL fabric?

girlsfour 03-30-2014 04:19 AM

Hancock Fabrics has quite a few assorted packages on clearance plus others not on clearance if there a store near where you live. The brand is Babyville. They also carry the snaps, etc. They will take competitors coupons in case the regular priced stuff isn't on sale.

Quilty-Louise 03-30-2014 10:53 AM

The Babyville snaps are plastic/resin and I found on Amazon from
a store called "I Like Buttons" that you can get a mega amount for
a reasonable price.

My friends & I went in together and bought 1000 sets in 20 colors
(they have OVER 100 colors to choose from) she picked 10 colors
and I got 10 colors. So we each got 500 pieces. Can't imagine how
long it will take me to use them all up.

JoAnn's with coupon.

I am wondering the same thing https://www.fabric.com/creativity-he...ul-fabric.aspx so went and looked. Going to buy some for dog belly bands.

sandyl 03-30-2014 11:41 AM

Pul fabric is waterproof fabric for baby diapers.

dellareya 03-30-2014 01:37 PM

I made diapers for both my grandsons. I found my PUL on line, but it is now at Joann's. The most important tool for making cloth diapers was a snap press. I bought mine here http://thesnapstore.com/catalog/prod...products_id/28. I also had to buy the size 20 Die Set. It was pricey, but so worth it. The grandsons are now 5 and 7 and I still find many uses for the snap press. Nice cloth diapers are very expensive, but not that hard to make. Made daughter sold the diapers I had made after the boys were done with them. She sold them for a nice amount. It is very common to resale used cloth diapers.

There is a better selection at JoAnn's website than in the store. You should have ordered it along with the snaps.

Cedar 03-30-2014 08:29 PM

I've only seen the babyville line in Joann's and the big fabric stores in Portland, but I love the designs they have on this website: http://www.diapersewingsupplies.com/all-prints/ They seem a little pricey but if you want something really unique it's the only place I've found for it.

sandyl 03-31-2014 03:11 AM

How many diapers could I get from a yard of PUL?

wbfrog 03-31-2014 04:29 AM

Hi, Sandy
You can find it at JoAnn Fabrics and it is at 50% until 4/5/14 in this weeks ad.

You can buy VERY GOOD cloth diapers on e-bay....You need to look for DSQ (diaper service quality) prefolds. I have purchased them several times for burp cloths. Not sure if you are trying to make them for the bum genious covers or the new other covers.
For me, it was worth the $14---and they have gone through 2 babies and are in great shape....ready for baby #3 due in a month.

These sites are my go to for pul and diapering needs. Both sites I've had excellent customer service from. http://wazoodle.com/index.php/ http://www.naturesfabrics.com/pul.html

nwm50 04-01-2014 06:43 PM

I've seen them at JoAnn's. Find them by upholstery dept!
