I usually read from the "Recent Topics" page and once I click on a message, it disappears from the RT page...where do they go? If I haven't clicked to watch the topic I'm not able to find the post again.

They come back as soon as someone else replies to them. I think.

Don't they also show up in 'topic log' if you click there?

If you go to the quilting forum there is a list of different section on the board click on the one where the thread was posted and you see a list of all topics all you have yo do is find the one you just read and click on it.
