Where is Eleanor?

I'm about to go into panic mode! First they take Fons and Porter off our PBS channel and now I can't find Quilt in a Day on RFDTV! She used to be on Wednesday at 11:30pm then moved to Wed. afternoon. Now I can't find her at all.
Anyone know where I can find her program? or Fons and Porter?

You can view her videos on her webpage (media theater). Missing her, too. She kept me up late on Wednesdays. :)

I think some shows have been displaced as PBS is doing alot of fund raising shows. I know the schedule is wonky here... and I get three PBS stations.. the good fortune of having three states that are close to each other in my corner.
I too miss Eleanor.. she is my favorite.

Eleanor is onmy PBS on Fridays. can you look up your PBS or other channels on the internet for listings?

I watched her other day on rfdtv but dont know what day or time

We still have Eleanor on PBS. Fons and Porter changed to Fons and Fons - mom and daughter. Don't like it as well as when Liz Porter was on. Seems like all they do is sell their rulers and products.

Programs like our quilting shows are purchased by your regional or local PBS stations to be shown by customer demand. You can help this process by contributing to your PBS stations when they have fund drives and by writing to let them know you want to see these programs. The program offerings change seasonally and will likely cycle through again at some point in the future.

So many people do not realize that they need to contribute to PBS in order for them to bring their favorite programs on board. I am new to this area and am just getting to know their schedule. I hope there are some good quilt shows on. Sadly, my favorite program Doc Martin is on at 9:00pm. Just the time when I am putting my little old man to bed and I am heading to my sewing room.

Mine shows a quilting show that I dont care for at all. It more for art quilters.
They still have Sewing With Nancy on Sat.
Fons and Porter were on the Byu channel but it is gone now.
Even QNN on the web has gone down hill and dont like it at all. Ten minute segments with lots of ads.

IPAD, get the PBS app an you can watch all your fav's anytime you want! Problem solved for me! I love my IPAD for this reason! They have an app for just about everything?

My husband and I are so discusted with how our cable company moves the programmes with out any notice or info. And frankly there is very little offered that interests us. We're dropped our cable and have gone COLD TURKEY with no TV.
I have more time to read and, (guess what?)
QUILT

Oh, love the Doc Martin program. Is there any way to record it? We do that and watch whenever we can stay awake! ROFL!!

See..another positive reason why I recently me-gifted an Ipad..........I will try as soon as I figure out how!!!!!!

Another mentioned new Love of Quilting-Fons & Fons???????? Wow.....I really am on the fence with that change....but right now our PBS stations (2) are offering neither one and as far as Eleanor Burns....not at all.........I think I am almost tempted to buy the CDs of my favorite series............

You might be able to go to tvguide.com and input your area and service type, then search for your show. Sometimes I've seen El on a different channel at a real odd time. This way you can pinpoint her show. Good Luck!

quilter68 11-30-2012 06:42 AM

Not Eleanor but other quilt/sewing shows are on at 6:00am on Saturday morn. And yes I give to my PBS; also Wickipedia has a request going at this time. I had to give because I use it more than anything on the web!

Rose Marie 11-30-2012 08:19 AM

Tv and the web have really gone down hill on quilting shows.
I loved QNN and Quilterstv. They were free and had tons of videos. Qnn now charges to watch and the new shows are awful and have 10min segments and lots of ads. Quilterstv is no more. What I saw surfing is not the quilterstv I watched.
At least Eleanor Burns has her videos on her website Quilt In A Day.

I watch you tube videos of quilt shows on my tv using Roku. Roku for about $50 one time charge. All you need is wi fi. The subscripion to tv or movies is less then $9 for a month for most like Netflix, and dozens of channels are free. it won't be long until there will be a quilt channel on Roku! HBO and Amazon Instant Prime Movies are on Roku too. http://www.roku.com/ So much better then cable and much cheaper.
