Where Are The Pictures?
I wonder why it is that television shows with a widowed father do not have a single photograph of the deceased parent. I am thinking right now of the Andy Griffith Show (have seen every episode repeatedly) , but I remember watching My Three Sons and Gidget, and do not recall any there either.
Am I missing something? |
Boston, you are correct on this. One exception was Bonanza, which features a show about each of Ben's wives. Remember each son had a different mother? I think each one died. Ben sure was unlucky!
I loved that show growing up. I don't think I missed an episode! |
What person's picture would they use? If the woman has never been seen in the show, it would be difficult to know how to choose one. Maybe use one of those that we used to find in a new wallet or picture frame? Who are those folks? But this is a great observation!

Maybe it's a money issue. They'd have to pay the woman for the use of her picture, and maybe they figured it didn't matter all that much. I agree that they could have had even a good drawing to represent the mother, as we'd likely never have seen it up close. Seems like a surviving parent would do that for the kids.
