Our Joann's has less than 45% fabric and it keep dwindling all the time.

Are you from the Hartford area?

There are two Joanns that I shop at. Dont shop much there anymore, just dont care for the coupon hassle.
Bought all my notions with coupons but now have enough so dont go there unless I need batting or muslin.
Coupons are to much trouble and you can not use them much because everything you want is on sale.
The fabric is overpriced for the quality so I shop on line for most of mine. I love the fabric shops here especially Mulqueens, they are very reasonable. All fabric is $6.98 a yard.

Thanks for this discussion. A new JoAnn's just opened 5 minutes from my home - very convenient. However, the prices seemed to be pretty high. For example, I purchased an floor ott light with flexible neck... came home and showed DH... who was aghast at the price - $179. The price was not posted and I was too embarrassed at the register (many people waiting in line) to negate the sale. My DH went on line and showed me an ott lite that looks exactly the same for $49.99... OMG we took it back and ordered online. The fabrics also seem to be pretty high in price. I would like to know what others think about this... is it just this one store?

There you go....from what I read it can go either way...resold,revamped, or divide and conquer. We'll just have to wait and see.

Joann's is the only place I can buy fabrics, patterns, notions, etc. There are no quilt shops (which are probably too expensive for my budget anyway), so I don't really have a choice. Joann's is it, regardless of any faults I may find there. I simply don't know what I would do if they closed. I won't buy fabric online because the colors aren't true on my screen and I can't feel or see the quality. I would really be at a total loss. I don't care who owns the store, just don't close up shop!

I shop at my local JoAnn's a lot. I also order from on-line stores including JoAnn's a lot. I have used Jo-Ann's coupons and gotten some really good deals on large cutting mats and knitting kits. There are two things I wish they would change to improve the store and service, 1. cut down on the silk flowers and put more fabric in; and 2. have more registers open when the store is busy. The wait in that one line to pay at the register can be extra long. Especially when folks are quibbling over a 50 cent price difference.

No, in NH. I just did a Google search and that is what came up. Try and keep cool in this heat!

How true. They only have 2 cutters at most and one checkout open at the one near me. The best coupons are always in the paper when they are having all their fabric on sale.
