Hens and Roosters,
Santas (stuffed)
And there are about 200 china bells packed away in my basement... from a time when everyone thought I liked bells. I wanted the old brass school bell from an old school when it shut its doors. I was teaching there at the time and the principal made a big deal about giving it to me. And suddenly every occasion I was gifted with a bell!! One Christmas I had almost 20 given to me by students and my family. I still display the school bell, but the others are packed away.

This has been such a fun thread to read....me, as well as fabric/clothing, I collect books (I used to work in the trade) and plants...I am passionate about gardening, even though our location, soil and climate are a bit of a challenge. I also love antiquing...and op-shopping, but our house is bursting at the seams, so quilting all my fabric hopefully should keep me out of trouble.

hubby said to tell you that his first car was a:
1962 Studebaker Daytona Lark
It had reclining bucket seats? ( oh really?)
v-8 287 cubic inch w/ a 4 in the floor
white w/ red interior
If it hadn't hit that big oak tree when he was 18, he would still have it today.

What I am wondering is: would he still have the reason he knew it had reclining seats?

Me too. And I collect Russian Stacking Dolls.

Got a funny story to go with that:

My sister went to one of the Russian stores in her home town in Germany, she told the proprietor (who speaks NO German) that she needed a Babushka. The Russian lady indicated that they did not have Babushkas. My sister indicated the motion of stacking the dolls, even making a smacking sound with her lips to indicate the nesting sound. (I ROFLed when she told me). Anyway, no "Babushka" was to be had.

So she went to another store, again asking for a Babushka. This sales lady asked: Why you want Grandmother? Babushka = Grandmother. Matryoshka = Stacking Doll. lol

Lol, I want to smack your grandmother

so, let's see Mad, let's do the math:
little hummingbirds on tables = pointy beaks, about 2 1/2 foot high.
One tall German woman...5'7", backing up in hummingbird room =
EQUALS: ONE MAD GERMAN WOMAN!!!

ok, I guess there is good reason I don't call myself a collector: I collect everything!
If I like something I get a few, then a few more and a few more.
Problem is: I like everything.
So, the only thing in my house that is one of a kind is the DH! ('cept the thin dusty guy under the bed  )
