Why Did I Wait So Long?

I bought the fabric, thread, Decorator Velcro (sticky on one side, sew-in on the other) and some drapery shirring header back in July to make a dust ruffle for the day bed in the guest bedroom. Last night I finally bit the bullet and started working on the dust ruffle and I'm happy to report it is now complete. I opted for a darker gray fabric as I think it will go with just about any quilt I put on the bed. I typically switch between this pink quilt or a bright and black quilt.

Good for you!! I've been wanting to do the same for my queen size bed.

I wouldn't know how to do a dust ruffle BUT I LOVE the pink quilt on the bed. Is this your own pattern? It's so pretty.

Very good I have made several, I now use the off white, it seems to go with everything. Beautiful quilt also.

Love your quilt! The dust ruffle really sets a nice "frame" for your quilt.

Nice job on the dust ruffle, and I really LOVE the quilt!

Drapery shirring???? Why didn't I think of that????

Looks great. Love the grey with the pink

Thanks everyone. The quilt is from a pattern in Quilt-lovers’ Favorites from American Patchwork & Quilting, published by Better Homes and Gardens Books. I think it’s in Volume 2. I’m not sure what the designer called it.

As for the drapery shirring, I didn't use it -- I really wanted box pleats and couldn't find any shirring to do those, so I did it the old fashioned way -- a little bit of math, a marking pencil and a ruler.

Any chance you'd be willing to give step by step instructions? I would love to do that with my bed, but don't know where to start.

I'm in the process of writing a tutorial. The text is written, but I need to add some photographs. Naturally, I didn't take any while I was making the dust ruffle -- so I need to do those next.

That is cute. Love the quilt on the daybed and the pillow case.

Love the dust ruffle, especially in gray. Great choice to pop the pink (cute quilt)!

It looks great!!! I procrastinate on things like this here. It feels good when you get it done.

The quilt and pillows look so comforting, it is like they are screaming for some one to come take a nap.
