Just got done making sure the baby robins got their wings and now have a nest of baby rabbits!lo
With having a beagle getting his space invaded its a challenge!
will try and post a picture of the bunnies later.Don`t see the Mom but left food and it was gone.Does the Mom not stay around much like a robin?

We have rabbits in our yard too. So nice to see them hopping around. Our dogs are good with them though, not much chasing!

They sure are cute! We have a baby groundhog in addition to the mama this year. The deer have been scarce.

There is one good thing to know about rabbits. As soon as their eyes are open and they are off the nest, they are ready to go and be on their own. The ones you have are really close to ready to go. Very good chance for them. Thanks for helping make their way in the world.

EDIT: Mom will leave the nest for extended periods of time (like most of the day) but be close by even though you can't see her. That's the idea. A general rule of thumb if you find a nest is to leave it alone. Mom is near. Watch in the evening and you might see her returning to the nest.

We had a nest of baby bunnies a couple of years ago. Mom will leave them alone during the day, but will return in the evening to feed them. She does a pretty good job of covering them up, too. I should look for the pics I took...

a dog we had when i was a kid found a nest of bunnies in our yard. she kept scooping them up to carry around in her mouth. little bunny legs sticking out the sides like wiggly worms. my mother had to keep sending her back to put them where they belonged.

it was a miracle, i'm sure, but their mother kept coming back to care for them until they were ready to be on their own. maybe she appreciated the free babysitter. LOL

I hate to say it, but we are rural & "bunnies" are destructive to our garden, & a real nuisance. One of the dogs searches out the nests & eats the bunnies - we call them "bunnie sliders". The other 2 dogs chase them, but quit as soon as the rabbit hits the tall weeds. It is a constant battle saving our veggies from them.

awe so cute.we had baby bunnies 2 years ago-they are still hanging around.we feed them in the winter to help them.We have 5.3 acres out of town and have all kinds of critters.

We had a nest of baby bunnies and I never was able to see when the mom came to feed them. It was so fun to see them grow and start to run away.

One of my male cats brought in a baby bunny - the bunny was still fine - made Bear give it up and let the bunny go.

What a cute story. Our Lab would steal baby chicks out of the heated box we keep them in for the first week. He was very gentle with them but wanted them on his rug where he slept.

When I was still living with my parents, many years ago, a mouse had made it's nest in a tuff of grass she brought from the rest of the field right beneath our tomato plant in our garden. As I was weeding, I disturbed the "pinkies" and then momma mouse came and grabbed them one by one while I was working to carry them off to a new spot. It was so neat to see, and it's funny how you feel protective of babies even though as adults, we would celebrate when the cats would eat them. It's my philosophy that there's room enough in nature for all of us, even when I didn't like mice in our house or rabbits in my garden.

We are rural too, and about 12-15 years ago we put up a privacy fence. My thinking it, there's not much else I can do. If something comes under the fence, it's on it's own. Just yesterday the dogs got bunny #6 this year.

When I bred these dogs, my goal was to breed a basenji that would survive on it's own if in the wilds of Africa, getting my start from a vet who raised them with the motto, 'breeding the functional basenji'

I learned something last year, skunks can climb wooden privacy fences! And woodchucks can dig under. And sometimes, I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, squirrels fall out of trees

I think mice are cute - outside! I think squirrels are cute - but not on/in the bird feeder.

I even think snakes are awesome - but at least 20 feet away from me.

I was mowing our front yard last year and when I got to this certain spot, I mowed and too late, this little thing popped up out of the ground, and I ran over it. There was no way anyone could have seen this. I did not know that they burrowed into the ground, I got down on the ground and looked and it was like a cone shaped nest and all of these little babies were just crammed in there. After that devastating episode, I put a few garden sticks around where the nest was. I sure don't want to do that again.

Momma rabbits only feed their babies once a day while in the nest. The milk is incredibly rich. It is natures way of protecting the babies (which have no smell). Minimal action around the nest by the mother keeps watching predators from finding them. The babies scatter as soon as they leave the nest to increase chances of survival.

We have lots of bunnies here, lady next door has big pine trees they live under and 2 big holes in our fence when they come to visit our yard to eat the clover. We have 2 beagles and they are on the hunt all the time. They got a robin this Spring but no bunnies yet this season, guess they ar too quick for them...........

They're cute until they start nibbling your flowers or garden!

My daughter is volunteering at the animal shelter in Colorado Springs, where the huge Waldo Canyon fire is. She said a big, burley fireman walked in, reached into his pocket and handed her a baby bunny. She said it melted her heart.

We should be caregivers of God's creatures. I would never deprive any living creature food. Just the way I am.

we have a privacy fence also and chain link around 3 sides and still they come in. my dogs have caught several this year, and when i hear the crunching i know what they've caught. i've just paid a small fortune to get the dogs and cats dewormed, and the dogs all their shots and flea medicine, so the rabbits can dig into our yard and bring fleas and other parasites. i've had pet bunnies and that's one thing, but i don't need wild bunnies eating my plants and making my cats and dogs sick. i won't hurt an animal, but i don't always approve of where they choose to be!

No babies in my yard. There are so many feral cats that I haven't seen a "teen-age" robin for three or four years. I like cats but the wild population are vermin.

my wildlife are squirrels and small birds who are quiet sure my new porch and hanging baskets were built just for them to nest in .So I just wait till they are done and continue/ The squirrels are a riot in the spring.

They are so cute. I have wild bunnies in my yard but have never seen babies.
