Why does everybody stock up on bread, milk, and eggs before a snowstorm?
Is there something about snow that makes people crave french toast? I saw this and thought oh how funny! Ditter I hope you see this! |
By the looks of the storm going through the midwest maybe it would be nice to have extra. If you can't get out for a couple of days you can quilt and cook.

That is funny. Power went out for a bit here in Seymour and I panicked. With this wind I always fear frozen pipes. But when they say storm, I stock up on candles! and batteries. How about you, what do you stock up on?
|
Dog food, milk and fruit. I don't drink milk - it must be a leftover from raising children. Today I wanted to go out and buy some wood in case I lose power in our coming storm. Candles don't give off much heat.

I worked at a milk plant in Oklahoma, when snow or ice was predicted our sales went thru the roof. Yep, milk, eggs and bread!
|
I would have to add toilet paper and a couple of gallons of water to the list as well.
|
Batteries so we can use flashlights and listen to the radio if power is out.
|
I use lanterns...they are a bit safer. I have a bottle of lamp oil in the cabinet at all times for refills.
I always bake when we are snowed in...I don't know why. But I like to do bread and maybe a meatloaf. Besides they don't take much of my time and then I can sew. |
Wow we might get some flurries here in Tennessee tomorrow and I bet there isn't a gallon of milk or loaf of bread within miles! Just kills me. I stock up on stuff you can eat without cooking for when the power goes out - and it goes out in our small town if a sparrow lands on a wire!

Ppl are in a panic here in KY. I went to go get a loaf of bread just cause I am out of it and the store shelves are bare. We are only suppose to get 1 to 2 inches if were lucky.
