Wisconsin town rumbling??

anyone know more about the town in Wisconsin (said to be in our MidWest) has so many people leaving due to rumbling and banging under the earth. their houses vibrate. scary. I wouldn't want to sleep through that either. i'd be afraid the earth would open a huge sink hole.

raptureready 03-21-2012 11:40 AM

I only know what I read on the internet that the experts don't know what it IS but the know a few of the things that it ISN'T. I wouldn't want to live there either.

I haven't heard that - do you know where?

guntherquilter 03-21-2012 04:14 PM

the town is Clintonville, WI. I live about 30 miles south. No problems here. Really weird is right! No good or right answers yet.

Tink's Mom 03-21-2012 05:06 PM

It is up near Green Bay, WI...Scary! I wonder who or what is making those noises....

The town is a very small town of about 4700 to 4800 people. It sure does have people on edge.. its the unknown that gets to everyone. Not everyone from Clintonville feels the need to leave, but..it is a strange thing happening. It started out in only one area of town..and now moved around a little. I hope they solve the mystery soon for their sakes.

Wow, how freaky. I have to wonder if there isn't some fracking going on a distance away, and the water has moved underground and found its way to this town. I feel badly for those folks.

stitchinwitch 03-22-2012 05:57 AM

Our earth is burping.

SunlitenSmiles 03-22-2012 06:11 AM

wonder if it is like when spring comes in Alaska and the top layer of earth suddenly thaws

This was my first thought!

hope they find the cause soon so people can do what has to be done and get some stress relief. I would be a basket case

mickey 03-22-2012 07:09 AM

there is another town called Montelle that is 80 miles South experiencing the same thing. Really Curious now.

blessed be
mickey

Aliens? Giant worms?

IdahoSandy 03-22-2012 09:00 AM

Wonder if it is a mining company drilling new tunnels close to the surface or possible aliens doing the same thing making an underground base. Just guessing here.

fivepaws 03-22-2012 10:17 AM

I saw it on the news last night. I would not be a happy camper if it was my town. Visions of sink holes dance thru my head.

MadQuilter 03-22-2012 10:40 AM

Below-ground angry cheese makers?

Clintonville?! Wow. Some friends of ours have friends in Clintonville. They have a farm and do maple syrup. I'll have to remember to ask our friends about them.
Very weird.

Sadiemae 03-22-2012 06:57 PM

They said tonight that it was a 1.5 Earthquake that made the resulting sounds that people are hearing.

burchquilts 03-22-2012 08:33 PM

Here's the latest as of tonight's 10 PM news ---> http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/143915006.html

mythreesuns 03-23-2012 05:21 AM

It seems a little strange to me.. a earthquake for several days in a row!! I really believe they are just saying it, because they really can not explain it.

Tudey 03-23-2012 05:49 AM

They now realize that the town was experiencing small earthquakes and were able to locate the epicenter on one.

Whoopie 03-23-2012 06:01 AM

I am wondering about hydro=fracking. Especially since "no one is drilling"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EvelynJ 03-23-2012 07:23 AM

Yeah, now the USGS says it was a 1.5 earthquake. Hmmm, please I don't want one, just too weird.

damaquilts 03-23-2012 12:35 PM

Did you see they are having the same thing in GA and Alabama? And they ruled out earthquakes. I still say its Mother Nature getting ticked off.

nativetexan 03-23-2012 02:24 PM

well we are on a living planet. anything can happen. Hopefully nothing worse than sounds will happen there.

petlover 03-23-2012 03:18 PM

That would be scary. I wasn't happy when we felt the quake in Oklahoma here in Kansas.
