We put in a wood burning stove in the summer and just did the initial burnin fires until a few days ago when it was chilly enough to start using it.

Theadorable showed us she approves!

cute cat and enjoy your woodstove

it is snowing this afternoon in Indiana (about 1 hour north of Indianapolis, Indiana)

I had 3. Now only 1 cat. They did that around our fireplace. They would hiss at each other for the best spots. She looks so comforable there. I like how her one leg is stretched out. They love the warmth don't they???? Pam

I have a space heater in my sewing room, and when it's on my one little cat lays as close to the front of it as she dares. Scares the heck out of me. I'm afraid she'll burst into flames!!

Cool wood stove and what a pretty kitty.

Enjoy the warmth of your woodstove. We have been burning wood for heat since the middle '70s. Our stove being older does not have catalytic heater so we have to be sure to clean out chimney (stainless steel) a couple of times a winter season. As long as my husband can obtain free wood (he loves to saw, split and stack the wood!) My house is small and open so stove keeps us cozy unless temps go down below 0 then on goes the house furnace. I also cook stews in a cast iron pot on top of the stove. W also had 2 cats for 15 years and they would get stretch close or further away depending on how hot the stove was running.

Such a cute kitty!

Hey Gals! If you cook or place items on top of the stove, does it leave a mark? Like a ring?

We just have a 3 legged small cast iron bowl on ours for 'tarts'.

Ah! She's loving the warmth, huh? Your stove and hearth remind me so much of the wood stove in our TN home--seems identical! Good memories. I love the sound and smell of wood fires.

We just had the chimney cleaned today (tried before but we had 60-70 mph winds) I started the fire when I got home from work, because it was spitting snow. My kittie was right there to soak up the heat. She is old so enjoys the heat and I have a little quilt she lays on by the wood stove. Our other kittie has such a thick coat she won't go near it.
