work in progress on a Rug
 

I hope it will turn into a rug! This is my first one. Any pointers for me from prior rug makers.

I am working on my jelly roll rug now. I did but the jelly roll and the batting for my first try. I am almost done with mine,
I will try to post a picture tomorrow if I can figure it out. Love this project.

I just finished my first one yesterday. There is a great tutorial on You Tube called - Official Jelly Roll Rug Tutorial by Erica Arndt.
She gives you lots of tips to help. I hope you enjoy your project as much as I did. I did not use a jelly roll but cut my strips from yardage. Enjoy.

I have not made a rug like this before but it does interest me a great deal. I would love to see this WIP to give me an idea of how it is done and decide if it is something I could do. I have this big ole stash that can be used for quilts or rug making.

That’s sew pretty! You have far more patience than I! I can’t wait to see it all done.

I made one jelly roll rug in a class. I like the tee shirt shag rugs better. So easy to make and uses up all the leftovers from a tee shirt quilt. There use to be a youtube video but it's not there now. The method was in the old Workbasket magazine and my grandmother used leftover poly knit to make the rugs. The ones she made back in the 70's are still being used.

I made one but it's rectangular. The directions were self explanatory. Can't wait to see it! I like your fabric choices.

First and most important, enjoy the process and have fun. I have made several jelly roll rugs and I use the same pattern as you. As mentioned prior, lots of ironing, with lots of steam, be sure to use your extension table on your machine, as the pattern mentions, you want this to remain flat as your sewing it. Enjoy, can't wait to see it.
